Just as our normal body temperature is 98.6, there are other measures of a normal condition of homeostasis within the body. The bodys levels of sugar, oxygen, and carbon dioxide within the blood must always be stable, and the pH (the balance of acid and alkaline) of bodily fluids, including our blood, should be 7.4, slightly alkaline.
